Apple's iPad and iPhone Users Test Apple's Maps And Walk Away Frustered
Apple attempt to wean users away from Android by creating a Apple's Maps and plunking it into iOS 6 leaves many users frustered.
Lacking features like public transit directions, comprehensive traffic data or street view pictures that makes Google Maps so popular, the Apple Maps app is facing negativism from users worldwide for geographical errors, missing information etc.
Which leads me to think if consumers are making a good choice when they buy a product that is so dependent on a single source for eveything that make it work.
Think the Intel PC, the generic smartphone. Divorcing the hardware from the software has its advantages.
The Intel based computers has brands like Dell, Toshiba, IBM and almost every one else. Same for the smartphones with Samsung now taking the lead. Microsoft is just too happy making the Windows OS better everyday, just a Google open sourcing the Android OS.
